We think social music listening has three aspects: it’s collaborative, interactive and evolutionary.
Services like Pandora and Grooveshark are really awesome. That said, it’s disappointing that they somehow fail to capture the extremely social nature of music. Wouldn’t you love to know what your friend is hearing, build playlists with them in real time, and show each other new music? With Ethertunes we want to make listening to music fun and social again.
Ethertunes allows friends to create playlists together. You can add any song to the playlist, reorder songs or delete them. Real-time syncing lets friends collaborate seamlessly in building a playlist.
As you start listening to the playlist, your marker will start to move, showing where everyone is listening. If you give your friends permission, they can drag your marker to a song they want you to hear. No other music player let’s you interact with your friends in real time.
We’ve become addicted to Ethertunes over the last few weeks, and are really excited to share it with everyone else. Sharing playlists with your friends is a ton of fun.
Check it out, and let us know how we can make listening to music even more fun!
